Applications

Gothicstone Travertine Pavers may be wet-set over a slab; however; they are best installed in a dry-set fashion (bed of crushed stone/sand) like any other paver. Because they are non-reactive with salt and chlorine, they are the perfect product for the most abusive commercial and municipal applications including sidewalks and pools.

They’re installed quicker than standard cement or bluestone style pavers due to Gothicstone’s strict and precise rectifying and calibrating specifications (+/- 2mm, +/- 1mm, respectively). There is no need to correct or adjust for imperfect sizing.

 

Features

The all-natural stone pavers (travertine, limestone, or marble) are quarried, then cut and antiqued, in the Turkish mountainside to exacting specifications. They come in a wide variety of colors, finishes (antiqued by tumbling, brushing, or cobbling), and sizes/patterns up to 36-in. by 36-in. (1.25-in. standard or 2-in. thickness). Since Gothicstone owns their quarries and factories, their selection is virtually endless. All pavers have matching indoor tiles.

 

Performance Capabilities

These beautiful travertine pavers have exceptional technical qualities such as the ability to stay cool underfoot even in direct sunlight. Lacking the naturally occurring metals contained in slates, bluestones, granite, etc., travertine (pure calcium carbonate) is not thermally conductive and actually insulates coolness radiating from the earth. Also, travertine's unique capillary action allows moisture to escape during even the most extreme freeze-thaw cycling without stressing the material.

Historically, its durable composition (over 50 million years old, 5000 psi) has made it a popular product for residential and municipal paving projects throughout the world.
